About Takamasa Honda
Takamasa Honda is a Hiroshima-based artist whose practice merges fashion, surrealism, and photography.
Originally trained in dressmaking, he founded his fashion brand in 2003 before expanding into photography.
Since 2004, he has developed a distinctive aesthetic that blurs the line between art and fashion. Entirely self-directed, he designs and dyes costumes, develops concepts, and photographs each work himself.
His work has received international recognition, including a Commended Award at the Sony World Photography Awards and selection for the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize 2024 at the National Portrait Gallery, where his portrait was featured on the catalogue cover.
