About Jelisa Peterson
I focus on portraits, documentary and street photography in East Africa. I’ve been working there over three decades particularly in Kenya and Mozambique. I combine my time there with volunteer work and fundraising for local children. My photography focuses on children and women.
I’ve worked as a solo photographer with the majority of my travel on buses to insure I can really experience what life is like since 1993. In Africa, I’ve lived and worked in a number of countries including Egypt, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
I plan to return to Kenya and Mozambique later this year to enjoy extending summer!
