About Md Zakir Hossain
I am Zakir Hossain, an award-winning photojournalist and visual storyteller based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. With over a decade of experience in the media industry, I specialize in capturing high-impact narratives through documentary, street, and social-issue photography. My career is defined by a commitment to ethical journalism and a keen eye for compelling content. Currently, I serve as a photojournalist for Times of Bangladesh, covering assignments focused on current events, political event, crisis and social issues. Additionally, I am the Photo Editor at Geographica Bangladesh, a travel and science magazine, where I manage visual quality and narrative flow for feature stories. My technical expertise spans DSLR and mirrorless camera systems, non-linear video editing, and drone operation, which allows me to provide unique aerial perspectives. I have earned global recognition for my work, notably as the Gold Winner (Environment) in the 2023 Asian Press Photo Contest in Singapore. Driven by a dedication to authenticity, my work aims to bridge the gap between local stories and a global audience, delivering high-quality visual content that is both timely and timeless.
